VUFF-100 B.R.HILLS WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

VUFF-100 B.R.HILLS WILDLIFE SACTUARY: : Biligiri Ranganatha Hills Sanctuary   was activated from  11th to 13th October 2011 with the call   VU2TS/FF.   This  station VU2TS
Op: Ganesh, is a permanent  resident amateur radio operator from the town, which is  within
the Sanctuary limits. All QSOs with VU2TS are valid for VUFF-100 from 11th October 2011.

The Sanctuary is a Tiger Reserve and many elphants, panthers, sambhar,  bear, deer, civets, porcupine, pythons,gaurs, and other fauna can be seen. About 200 species of birds can be seen.
There is the  very famous Temple of   Ranganatha Swamy here. The area is a tribal locality.

This sanctuary can be reached either via Yelandur  or  via Chamarajanagar . There is  a resort
of Jungle Lodges and Resorts, at KT Gudi. JLR can be contacted from Bangalore or Mysore,
for bookings.
